Sega Sammy earnings: Game slate unveiled through March 2027
Sega Sammy reported its earnings for the fiscal year and fourth fiscal quarter ended March 31 today, and it revealed more about upcoming games. Sega Sammy’s revenues for entertainment rose slightly, while overall revenues for the company were 487.5 billion yen, up from 428.9 billion yen a year ago. But profits dropped. Adjusted EBITDA fell from 62.2 billion yen a year ago to 16.6 billion yen for the year ended March 31, 2026. Next year, Sega Sammy forecasts growth to 510 billion yen in revenues and 64 billion yen in adjusted EBITDA. Sega Sammy said that its Rovio division, which is built around Angry Birds, saw a slowdown in fiscal year. For fiscal 2027, Sega Sammy said Rovio will continue the efforts toward a global games as a service, but it “will focus on its own restructuring first.” The Japanese company also said that two free-to-play games (of three launched: Persona 5: The Phantom X, Sonic Rumble Party, and Sega Football Club Champions) missed their targets. Sonic Rumble Party failed to cash in on a collaboration with Rovio and was generally weak. Sega Sammy also said it decided to cancel Super Game.
