Maple Memo: Addressing the Unique tier Familiar Boss Damage Potential

Hello Maplers, We would like to share an update on the Unique tier Familiar Boss Damage Potential option.Before the November 12, 2025 (v.264) update, the Boss Damage option in Familiar Potential appeared as one of three values at Unique tier: 30%, 35%, and 40%. As part of the Quality of Life improvements in that update, we set out to support smoother, faster progression by removing the lowest 30% value from Unique tier leaving only the two higher values and making them appear far more often than before. Recent player inquiries prompted us to take a closer look and we discovered that, at Unique tier, both the 30% and 35% values had been removed leaving only the highest 40% option, which was appearing even more often than we had intended. After extensive internal review and discussion, we have decided to keep things as they currently stand: Only the Boss Damage 40% option will appear at Unique tier in Familiar Potential, and it will continue to appear just as often as it does now. In keeping with the spirit of those original Quality of Life improvements, we made this call to preserve as much of the convenience you enjoy today as we can. Even so, we sincerely apologize that this did not work as intended, and for any confusion it may have caused. For reference, our review confirmed that every other option across all tiers, along with all values tied to ranking up, is working as intended. We would also like to note that, while we were correcting a separate error from the November 12, 2025 (v.264) update in which the Boss Damage 40% option's value had been reduced, the option briefly appeared abnormally often. This was not intended. We will continue to do our very best to provide a smooth and enjoyable experience for all of our players. Thank you.- The MapleStory Team
