Metroid Ravenous, Out in January 2027, Gives Samus the Power to Devour
Nintendo surprised fans by announcing a brand-new Metroid game during its recent Direct, and you don’t even have to wait long for it. A new 2D entry in the franchise, Metroid Ravenous, hits Nintendo Switch 2 on January 28, 2027. There are a couple of extremely interesting details in the first trailer, which also provides a healthy look at gameplay. For one, Samus is talking, something that hasn’t happened since Metroid Other M on the Nintendo Wii. For another, it looks like Ravenous will feature a quite aggressive playstyle, supported by the narrative itself. At the end of the trailer, we see Samus literally devouring a creature with a crazed glint in her eyes, stating it’s “eat or be eaten.” It’s eat…or be eaten. #MetroidRavenous. 28/01/2027.
