When does Amazon Prime Day start?
Amazon's 'Prime Big Deal Days' sale officially kicks off tomorrow, October 6. However, competing retailers like Best Buy and Walmart have already launched their own offers and Amazon is price matching some of them well ahead of time. We're expecting an influx of new offers at midnight, but things are already looking pretty promising.

When will Amazon Prime Day end?
This Fall event is a two-day affair, unlike the four-day marathons Amazon's been running over its last few Prime Day sales. That means official offers will close out at midnight leading into Thursday October 8, but this is just the start. Last year's October Prime Day revved the web's Black Friday engines, with discounts continuing to run on and off throughout the month and into November.

Should you wait for Black Friday?
This question always lingers whenever Amazon runs an October Prime Day. Black Friday is looming over us, threatening to drop prices even lower than they are this week. The last few years have revealed an interesting trend, though.

A lot of the discounts we saw in last year's Prime Big Deal Days were recycled all the way up to the big day in November, appearing back on the shelves just as they did the month previous. That's because this week of sales typically kicks off the entire sales season (because Black Friday has to last two months now apparently), with stores looking to extend that window as much as possible.

That means many of this week's discounts will likely continue through Black Friday. The difference is that November's event will likely introduce wider price cuts. More tech will be on offer, rather than discounts on today's gadgets running deeper.

Of course, that's just the trend we've spotted in the last few years - nobody's got a crystal ball here. The good news is those holding out for the absolute lowest price possible will likely have another shot over the next 8 weeks. Equally, if you spot a price you like now (and it's a record-low, or the best of the year) it's unlikely to see significantly higher discounts by the end of the year.

Who's already on board?
We're still one day out from Amazon's official Prime Day deals, but Best Buy is already trucking on with its own discounts. The competing TechTober sale has kicked off today, dropping prices on a number of PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PC gadgets well ahead of Prime Day. Not only that, but it runs all the way through to next week as well.

Our top gaming headset gets a record-low price

(Image credit: Future/Rosalie Newcombe) Prime Day hasn't even started yet, but multiplatform PS5, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch 2 players will want to check out this early saving on the SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Omni.

The follow up to the Pro Wireless, a headset that stood firm at the top of our best gaming headset recommendations for years, sports hi-res audio on PC while also keeping those hot-swappable batteries, that premium sound quality, and its EQ hub.

We're still talking big money here - $359.99 for a headset. I've never seen that $40 discount before, though, this one's usually $379.99 when on sale.
