In air engagements, the Gripen can initiate combat at long ranges using RB 99 missiles equipped with active radar homing seekers; for medium-range engagements, it employs missiles with semi-active radar homing seekers; and for close-range dogfights, it utilizes all-aspect infrared-homing missiles. For ground-attack missions, it can deploy laser-guided bombs, air-to-surface missiles with television-guidance seekers, and unguided munitions.
