路透香港5月5日 – 香港政府統計處周二公布的預先估計數字顯示，2026年第一季本地生產總值（GDP）較去年同期上升5.9%；經季節性調整，首季GDP按季增2.9%。
政府發言人表示，第一季經濟較上一季經修訂的4%增長加快（上調自先前估算的3.8%），並錄得近五年來最強的季度增長。
“展望未來，香港經濟增長前景仍然正面，受惠於全球對人工智能相關電子產品的強勁需求、訪港旅客人次持續增長，以及跨境金融活動活躍。”發言人並說。
香港政府此前設定今年GDP增長預估為2.5-3.5%，而去年增速則為3.5%。
