Sky-high hype: ‘Pilot Picasso’ draws massive GTA 6 mural in 8-hour flight over Arkansas
The anticipation for Grand Theft Auto 6 has gotten so high, you can even see it if you look up in the air. Kind of. A 28-year-old commercial pilot and content creator took to the skies over Arkansas in the US for eight hours to create a mural dedicated to GTA 6, saying “I’ve been waiting 11 years for this moment.” It’s actually been 13 years since GTA 5 first released, but the idea still stands. In the past, he’s done all sorts of artwork inspired by different passions such as Spider-Man, The Lord of The Rings, The Odyssey, and even other games like Skyrim. This time, he wanted to highlight his excitement for Rockstar Games’ latest title, and the detail in the final image is actually pretty wild, caught by @FlightRadar24. Along with spelling out the full GTA 6 title, the air-painting also includes a helicopter, palm trees, an alligator, a sports car, and of course, a non-descript baddie in sunglasses holding a gun. Apparently, this sort of thing is done by inputting a flight pattern and then following along with lines dictated by tech on-board the plane, but that doesn’t make it any less impressive, especially when you consider the dedication it takes to fly around in circles like this for eight hours or more. We’re now less than two weeks away from GTA 6 launching, so I’d imagine that the marketing and other publicity stunts like this will be ramping up leading up to release on Nov. 19. I’m all for it. Now, we can all only hope that this sort of thing can be recreated in GTA 6 itself with in-game planes.
