Update 49 Base-Game Patch Now Live on All Platforms
ESO’s Update 49 base-game patch is now live for all platforms, introducing new features, improvements, and systems. Get an early jump on some of the big Season Zero additions as Update 49 lays out the foundation for the next three months of new adventures, reward systems, and quality-of-life improvements. Update 49 Patch The Update 49 base-game patch is now live simultaneously for all platforms and ESO players. The new content and systems below are free for all ESO players (new ESO Plus benefits and select Tomes options excepted). Dragonknight The Dragonknight has received a major rework to both its core abilities and their look and feel. This includes redesigning and rebalancing its three skill lines so that the class now leans more into its core themes of attrition-focused combat while enabling a broader suite of roles. In addition, the Dragonknight also enjoys a complete rework of its ability animations, VFX, and sounds, modernizing the way the class feels to play. Two Handed Like the Dragonknight, the Two Handed skill line also received major reworks to its animations, VFX, and sounds, improving the way its various abilities feel to use in combat. Player Experience Improvements Update 49 also features a massive collection of Player Experience improvements, produced by a dedicated team that focuses on player-requested quality-of-life additions. These additions include new mounts available from the game’s stablemasters, the ability to easily change your attribute and skill point allocations for free, the addition of account-wide outfit slots, furnishing limit increases for various homes, and much more. Base Game Additions ESO is an evolving game, and as we add new adventures, systems, and worlds, we may choose to make changes or additions to what is included in its most basic version. With Update 49, we’ve decided to make the following adventures, previously DLCs, fully available to all players who own the game: Imperial CityIncluding the PvE/PvE zone and storyline, plus two four-player dungeonsOrsiniumIncluding the Wrothgar zone and storylineThieves GuildIncluding the Hew’s Bane zone and Thieves Guild storylineDark BrotherhoodIncluding the Gold Coast zone and Dark Brotherhood storylinePreviously available as DLCs from the Crown Store or via ESO Plus membership, these four classic adventures are now included and available for all as ESO base-game features. Note that you will not need to claim the DLCs to own them, they will be automatically added to your stories in your Collections UI when you log in. Additional Membership Boosts
Update 49 also includes further expansions to existing ESO Plus membership boons, such as:
- Increase to Transmutation Crystal Capacity
- Increase to Housing Furnishing Limits
- NEW: Increase to Antiquity System Lead Times
First opening on March 25, 2026, with a selection of long-term items, the Gold Coast Bazaar’s seasonal offerings will be available with the launch of Season Zero on April 2, 2026. To acquire items from the Gold Coast Bazaar, you will need to first earn Trade Bars via various in-game activities, including participating in events, Twitch Drops, and the upcoming Tamriel Tomes.
Acquire returning collectibles in the Bazaar
Note that with Update 49, any Event Tickets you retained from previous in-game events have been converted into Trade Bars. You can spend them at the Gold Coast Bazaar and with the Impresario on March 25!

As you complete Challenges, you earn Tome Points that unlock new pages of rewards and allow you to acquire individual items at will. With both weekly and seasonal challenges available, there will always be a wide range of options available for every kind of ESO player.
